The committee works to make RU a more responsible and inclusive environment for everyone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"435\" data-end=\"644\">Birta organizes a wide variety of events at RU, such as clothing swaps, book exchanges, educational sessions on mental health and sustainability, as well as company visits (<em data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"623\">v\u00edsindafer\u00f0ir<\/em>) and guest lectures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"927\">The committee hosts <strong data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"687\">SFHR Charity Week<\/strong>, a fundraising event dedicated to a meaningful cause, featuring fun challenges, raffles, giveaways, and other activities. The week concludes with a celebratory charity party where students gather to reflect on their collective achievement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"1088\">Birta also participates in <strong data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"982\">RU Sustainability Week<\/strong>, and encourages student participation in <strong data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1046\">Plastic-Free Weeks<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1087\">Sustainable Transport Challenges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Birta is the Social and Sustainability Committee of the Student Union at Reykjavik University (SFHR).
