Role:
The SFHR Editorial Committee is responsible for publishing Háskólablaðið, the student magazine of the Student Union at Reykjavik University. The committee oversees content creation, sponsorship acquisition, and all other aspects related to the publication. It operates under the authority of the SFHR Board, which manages the committee’s finances. Any surplus from the publication must be allocated to other SFHR activities. The committee’s role is to publish content that highlights student life, the RU community, and student-related matters.
Description:
The SFHR Editorial Committee oversees the publications of SFHR. It publishes Háskólablaðið annually — RU’s yearbook — which is packed with entertaining interviews, articles, and photo spreads. The committee also publishes Háskólafréttir, SFHR’s student newspaper featuring news from the university community.
The committee handles all aspects of production — from writing and editing to artistic design and sponsorship outreach. Whether you love writing, designing, photography, or marketing, the editorial committee is the right place for you.

Appointment:
The Editor-in-Chief is the chair of the committee and is elected in the RU student elections. If no candidates come forward, the SFHR committee representative appoints the editor. The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the SFHR committee representative and board, appoints the remaining members.
Work Plan / Projects:

The committee shall publish Háskólablaðið at least once per year.

The committee shall publish Háskólafréttir at least once per year.

The committee shall acquire sponsorships and ad revenue to cover publication costs.

The committee shall organize and promote the release of the publications and host a launch event in cooperation with the SFHR board.
